Metal is one of the two suits that is new to this tarot. It represents that aspect of the Ego Process that we know as will power. And this card, the Mother of Metal, is one of my favorite cards in the deck for it represents the subtle aspects of will power that can go unnoticed by others because they look like what people tend to call strength. That strength doesn't come from nowhere. It is born, as all will power is, from the depths of spirit. When you can tap that spirit level of the self with ease, so that what you are doing looks and feels natural to you and to those around you, you have the Mother of Metal.

So a very genuine sense of personal power rules the day, but it is a sense of personal power that has been acquired at a cost. That makes it very valuable. Especially today when the undercurrent of the day is one of urgency.

Stay within yourself and come from that place of strength that you have earned. Use your considerable skills to keep that sense of urgency at bay, for bowing to it can lead to errors in judgment as well as in more mundane matters.

So, a serious day. But there can be, if you are open to it, an element of fun in the day. If you can get past your own impatience or fear or antsiness or whatever is causing your particular sense of urgency, there can be a lighthearted energy that will make the whole day flow easily and support your goals.
