XV Excess / 10, Earth

Well, I guess it's going to be a good day...might want to watch out for over-doing it though.

In the original tarot this card, XV, was a card with distinct religious references. But the earth, from which this deck sources itself, has no religion, so my goal was to translate the essence of the original meaning, subtract any one-pointed moralistic judgments, (because the earth does not judge), and render an image that I thought would convey the archetype in question.

XIV (Moderation, Temperance) and XV (The so-called Devil) gave me a difficult time. They were the last of the cards to come into focus for me, probably because the archetypal concepts they convey are such polar opposites, (something people usually fail to appreciate in the older decks precisely because of the imagery). I felt that the images had to reflect each other in some core way. Excess's opposite is a plain wooden deck chair, sitting on a dock, facing out into a bay.

So, enough about the process. You won't have to do much in order to make the day work for you, just keep yourself in line a little. With any luck you will fall, as Rumi says, into the place where everything is music, and you can dance your way through a day that has the potential for being truly delicious.

Here's a hug to get you started. ((((((((((( HUG ))))))))))))

(Hope that wasn't too much for you!)
