OK...I guess you can tell, it's time for something a little different.

Like most of you, I'm suspecting, I have been listening to the fear-based media discussing the economy for the last couple of days. And, yes, it's clearly in bad shape...and, yes, we are all affected by it, touched in same way.

But this is the same Media that predicts massive disaster from hurricanes that die before they reach shore and forecasts paralyzing snowstorms that are barely worth a street cleaning on more occasions than not.

But money...this is basic survival we're talking about, right? So the fear can strike even deeper. And it's the whole country, not just a few cities. And if there's one thing I know, as sure as you are sitting here, it is that thought creates reality. So if we let the media scare us into The Next Great Depression...why then, whose fault will it be?

On the other hand, if it's too late...well, it would be nice to know.

So I did this morning's reading a little differently than usual...and the cards, as they will do, behaved a little differently than usual.

The good news is, it's not too late...the bad news is, it could be if we let it.

Everybody knows by now that greed is behind this. And most good folks sit in their modest homes and pat themselves on the back for not being greedy. Are you sure? Are you never greedy? Because, guess what? My body really only needed two fish sticks last night. But something inside me was just sooooo insistent on three. So I had three. And you know what, it was one too many. When I was getting out the fish sticks I hadn't taken the corn and greens into account. I didn't see The Big Picture.



That's what children do.

They don't see the big picture.

And that's what has brought us to where we are with the economy today, the myopic greed of children.

People with the emotional maturity of children have led us straight down this very unlovely path. Could they help it? Probably not. If you look at the time that elapsed between the 1929 fiasco and this one you will see that the folks responsible for todays situation are the so-called children of the depression and their children. It's in their cellular memory...it is. Because if you don't clear your cellular memory of trauma, there it stays. They had no tools available for that, didn't even know it existed.

The direct result of not having enough is usually wanting too much. It starts as being 'a cushion,' just in case something 'bad' should happen. It ends up as an obsession, an obsession that you pass on to your offspring. We are our parents children, living in a world they prepared for us.

The good news is that the energy of Spirit has been on the rise. It's first real public showing was in the 1960's. Many of the children born since then carry more of Spirit than the children of the Depression and their children. But those special children were always around, always being born, have always been here...there are just more now, the numbers are building. If you are reading this blog, you are probably one of these children, all grown up.

So you get it. You understand what I am saying and you understand, too, that if you can stay out of fear and out of greed, then you can help turn the tide. Because it is a new way of thinking that will turn the tide, not an influx of funds from the government.

It is people helping other people that will turn the tide, people dropping their costs and prices so that other people can afford what they need. It is getting by on less...because you can...and helping others to get what they need that will turn the tide. It is giving what you can that will allow us all to get what we need.

Children that act out of greed end up with no friends. Children that think of themselves first end up with toadys and yes-men for friends. Give and take does not exist for these children...or for the adults they grow up to be.

Competition creates losers. Cooperation builds towns. Think small. Think generous.

Those who have created this monstrous cancer of gigantic homes, more, more, more of everything and a fear that is so pervasive that we will, apparently, now desire pharmaceutical drugs without even knowing what they are for...those people have kept Wisdom at bay.

It is up to us to use our very good minds to reach out and embrace Wisdom...it is there...waiting.
