It is right and good and human to help others.

But make sure, today, to wait until you are asked.

Sometimes our projection of how we would feel if that were us goads us to action where, yes, if that were us over there having some difficulty, would have been wanted, desired, and/or appropriate but because it is not us, may be none of those.

So keep your projections to yourself and remember that just because you can do something doesn't mean that you necessarily need to. 

Be polite, ask, don't assume.
