We have rules. many of those rules are unspoken. We create them at levels of consciousness that have nothing to do with logical, rational thinking. These rules affect almost everything we do. Some of them come directly from the body - what makes it feel good or safe. Some of them come from the psyche - what makes it feel good or safe.

But Spirit has no rules. Spirit simply is. And sometimes Spirit wants the upper hand. Sometimes Spirit comes knocking at your door and says, "Let me in," or, "Let me out." At times like that there is conflict, internal conflict, conflict you may not recognize as conflict. You may think you've developed a nervous twitch, or a pain that seems to have no reason to be.

When Spirit cannot have its way, it will do its level best to let you know that it is frustrated. It will use your body as a messenger because Spirit and the body have a pact. Spirit and the body have chosen each other. The psyche, however, is another story altogether. So when the desires of Spirit and the rules your psyche has set in place so neatly come up against each other and disagree, Spirit will make sure that you know about it because Spirit trumps everything.

Pay attention when Spirit comes knocking or risk a life that does not feel fulfilling, does not feel right somehow despite the fact that, intellectually, everything may seem to be in it's proper place. As a bumper sticker I once saw says, "Question everything," because the status quo is not only boring, it can actually be mortifying.
