Sometimes, you behave like an idiot and you get what you deserve. Sometimes, you behave like an idiot and for reasons unknown, no one notices and you get away with it like it never happened. Other times, you behave like an idiot and, well, you learn something from it.

So don't feel too badly today if you screw up, if you step on someone's toes (emotionally) or say something remarkably unfeeling at a time that demands sympathy or just express yourself the wrong way. You'll learn from it.
 
And if it isn't you screwing up, if you're the person on the receiving end, remember, it's just that kind of day. Be the teacher and don't go nuts on the poor bastard.

No matter which side of this equation you end up on, compassion is the key, either for yourself or for the poor idiot who just can't hep it.
