What you see...is what you see.

What you get...well...that depends on what you know.

When things are going bad all around you, it can be difficult - if not impossible - to "look at the bright side" (What bright side?) but if, inside you, down deep, beyond thought, in the cellular structure of your body you know there is a bright side, then what you see doesn't look quite so bad.

If you're not in that place of knowing, then it can be downright discouraging when your world seems to be falling apart around you. Do what you need to do to remind yourself that better is coming, even if it's only forgetting for a while how trying things actually are. Watch a movie. Clean something. Help out a friend. Because the less you dwell on what you think are problems, the better you will feel.
