Earth is the suit of the material world. It is more than just money and goods, it is the physical body as well. Metal is the suit of how we chose to apply ourselves, willpower, if you will.

XXIII, The Mystery - in this case, reversed, though it may be difficult to see that, as is often the case with The Mystery - is of the Major Arcana, and therefore, the suit of Aether.

 As Metal and Earth are happily in a nurturing relationship with one another, today's surprise break with what you have perceived as good fortune may seem not only unlikely but even hurtful.

Don't take it personally, it's Aether at work, the direction of the Spirit Self leading you briefly down a path you didn't want to travel so that you can, eventually, end up where you are supposed to end up.
