Stop trying so hard. What you want done is done. All you need to do is to see it done, not see you trying.

Metal is the suit of the will. Without will we don't get too far but we can - and some of us often do - over-do it. She is persistent and, believe me, she can make happen what she wants to have happen only sometimes she gets a little twisted up in the process.

I've been reading tarot since the mid sixties and, unlike most women, I never identified with any of the female figures of the lower arcana, not in any deck I ever used and I've used plenty. Then, as I was pulling this deck together, incorporating the elements of Wood and Metal, I recognized myself the moment I saw her, Mother Metal. It's a complex card. She's a complex woman. And when she shows up just make sure you're not going overboard, straight into the sea, when everyone else is getting into the boats!
