Water - emotions, feelings - all kinds, not just love. (female)

Leading to Wood - personal growth, nurturing - just what you need - or at any rate, just what you get whether you want it or not -after the whole feeling thing (female)

Leading to Air - the intellect and the faculties and functions of the mind in general, sometimes sluggish, sometimes perky,sometimes inquiring, sometimes closed, sometimes led astray - sometimes helpful, sometimes not  - having felt, having grown from the experience,the tendency is to sort things out via the intellect (male)

Leading to Fire - connection to Spirit and to the Spirit Self - inspiration, philosophy, the expression of the heart in the world, often as work - a place of higher understanding - what we do does not matter so much as how we do it (male)

Leading to Earth - the material world and all that it entails including the business of survival and therefore money and the well being of the physical body  - we embody all that we have learned, one way or another (female)

Leading to Metal - Will Power - the expression of mental abilities for a purpose - we "make up" our minds - Air has a fleeting energy, the mind is easily distracted - Metal takes the sum total of experience and puts it to work. - Metal makes things happen (male)
