VIII Strength / XVIII The Moon

Trust Life. It has a power, strength and vitality you cannot comprehend. It goes on and on and on and you are a part of that. The vitality that you may speak of as 'life' is but a part of a much larger picture that includes something you may call 'death.'
We are part of a cycle. The moon is a reminder of that.Today she will be eclipsed briefly and, because of our own shadow, we will not see her form...but the cycle continues. Indeed, the eclipse - which you might imagine as us, standing in our own way sometimes - is a critical part of that cycle. Unlike the ancients, we know what is going on...or think we do.
The rituals of our ancestors, to bring back the moon, echoed their fears that she might one day disappear forever. Thousands of years of those fears have imprinted our DNA and at some level, we share that fear with them, yet it is a very self-centered fear, a fear for what? For our own lives.
Life goes on with or without us, with or without the moon, with or without the sun. This fact is what makes life precious. Live life to the fullest, celebrate the darkness of nature as you celebrate its brightness and darkness will disappear from your mind. Darkness is born, not of the shadow of death - or the earth or the moon - but of fear.
