There is a responsibility that comes with a sense security in the material world. To the degree that you have that sense of security, when called upon by someone who needs your assistance, give what you can.
Don't just dismiss the idea out of hand because most of us have some sense, at some level, of feeling secure in some way in the physical world. I'm not necessarily talking about financial security here, though that's certainly an option; your security might be a skill you have or the physical ability to do something that someone else can't.
Share yourself should the occasion arise and you'll be in tune with the day.
