Traditionally, this part of the lunar cycle, right before the new moon, is not considered a time to start things. But percolating...ahhhh, yes! The darkness of the coming new moon can provide a place of great discernment. One can, after all, spot a light in the darkness more easily than in the bright so it's actually a great time for planning and preparing and seeing where the sparks are coming from.

Power was out in the hills this morning rendering the magic of the cloud that sat on us even more precious in the extreme silence only recently broken by the restoration of electricity.

In the extreme quiet I did this card reading to post when we were back on the grid and I did my yoga, interrupted by a flurry of the earth spirits from under and around the house bringing me knowledge about their energy, the energy of the Earth and the Universe and my role in being here.

I certainly never expected that. Such revelations come to me only every few years so I'm guessing that it's just that kind of day.

Plus, of course, the Air in question is a Seven and that's always just a little unsettling and I don't mean that in a bad way, necessarily. Sevens are unsettling the way shaking up a bottle of salad dressing is unsettling; you have to shake it up if you want the kind of equal dispersion that allows for an equitable distribution of the elements within the bottle thus creating a balanced and tasty salad.

So, in the end, it's not just good, it's better than good. Trust that everything is as it should be, even if it may not feel that way, and keep walking towards the light because that light is you.

OK, so between a relentless case of altitude issues in conjunction with connectivity issues, I've decided to just stop trying to post readings while I'm on vacation...not that this feels much like a vacation...more like a sick day...or three...at this point.

That said, thinking that I would be doing readings, I created for myself a miniature version of this deck to bring with me and I'm loving it. Now, you may have read that this deck is just a virtual deck because I simply cannot afford the $30,000 I'd need to get it published, so I have a copy that I use and that's the only official deck there is. But when I created the tiny traveling deck - the cards are about 2 x 2.75; I printed them out on business card stock and cut them out - I suddenly realized that, while I can't sell the cards, there's no reason why I can't give them away...the publisher files would be small enough to send out via Email...there are 12 files so I'd have to send 12 separate Emails and that would take a little time to do so I'd hope for a donation to cover that but if you want your own deck, and you can use the files as they are - I have no way to convert them - just let me know.

I'll expect to be back to a normal schedule by the beginning of next week.

V Wisdom / XXI The Universe a reading for 2.21.10

Y'all missed yesterdays reading because I couldn't get a connection...suffice it to say that it, too, consisted simply but beautifully, of two Major Arcana cards. Now, today, two more. When this happens it's a sure sign that Spirit has the upper hand, that we are exactly where we need to be, doing exactly what we need to be doing. Yesterdays cards, The Sun and The Tower, promised a day of some discomfort but a discomfort that was unavoidable and, eventually, surmountable.

There were no cards for today because yours truly got altitude sickness and was dead asleep for the better part of the day, living out the promise of the previous days reading. So I decided, in light of high winds and me feeling quasi human, to do a reading for tomorrow...just in case...and, I am relieved to say, it looks good. It looks real good. So settle in for a peaceful day of contemplation and enjoy finding and feeling your place in the Universe...just as it should be!

On the Road Again

...I never got the chance to say so on Wednesday but I left that day for Los Angeles and am going to be on the road for a bit so readings are apparently going to be sporadic.

I did one yesterday but then found out that there's no wireless here and am now on the slowest dial up connection in the world and on a schedule as well so...I'm hoping tomorrow will go more smoothly.

It's not the end of the world but it could be a brief hiatus in your self respect so just don't do anything you wouldn't do...under normal circumstances.

Coming from a place of utmost integrity, remain focused, think clearly...and surrender to what will be.

These cards are born of a new eon and in this reading, three of the four cards are reflective of the sensibilities of this time. When tarot was born, pre 14th century, the average person lived the life that he or she was born to. Options now, at least for those of us in industrialized and technosavant countries, are too numerous to count. We in the West have finally begun to embrace Eastern philosophies that celebrate the possibilities of the mind.

But just because we can do something, doesn't always mean that we ought to. The magnificent abilities of the mind must, sometimes, take a back seat to the desires of the Spirit. Today is such a day. If you are wise, you will just relax into it. Que sera, sera.

Something that you have been pursuing is yours today.

A word about the Karma card. Karma, as it used to be understood - a kind of interdimensional cosmic punishment / reward system - is an outdated concept. Time, as a linear construct, is no more than a convenient imaginary device. The Time / Space continuum is exactly that, a continuum - no beginning, no end, no linear anything. That's quantum physics.

Karma, however, is a darn useful word to describe the ongoing and ever-present balance of energy that exists for each of us within our many alternate - read: occurring at the same time - lifetimes. But it's so not about punishment and reward. It's about balance. It's about the balance of energy and energy is energy. There is no good energy, no bad energy; those are just words we use to describe - read: judge - how we feel about something or someone and certainly things can feel good or bad.

In Sacred Earth Seven Element Tarot, Karma has replaced Justice as a more reliable source of energetic balance. Justice is a man-made device and, as some of you may had the misfortune to discover, so-called Justice does not always work as we might hope it would. Karma does. It cannot do otherwise.
